"Gala Fundraiser Reaps Cash for Cultural Events": Dinner, silent auction raise $17,000 for Arts Commission.
The dinner, dance and silent auction at the Ritz Charles brought out about
240 dressed in their finest. And, the support was "fabulous" according to
Commission President, Mary Sue Rowland, who said the event raised more
than three times the amount raised last year.
She said the money will go to accomplish more, like increase scholarships,
beef up www.noblesvillearts.org website, have better visibility and perhaps
add another event.
Rowland attributed the gala's success to the addition of corporate sponsor
tables and more high-quality auction items, namely Harden's original oil that sold to Noblesville author Susan Crandall for $1,100, the highest live auction bid, and Henry Bell's abstract, jewelry from Smith's Jewelers in Noblesville, furs from day Furs in Carmel, an eight course Italian feast for six donated by Elaine and Larry Wagner and a cocktail boat ride and Succotash Dinner for eight from Carole Szentesy and Jane Campbell, a co-founder of the
Commission.
